  • Abstract
    This paper introduces the mechanism of actuated signal control and the method to determine main parameters, analyses the queuing model and the delay model at urban road intersections, surveys the basic data of a typical four-leg signalized intersection, simulates the present situation and the actuated signal controlled situation and compares the two results. The traffic status may be improved obviously in the later condition, the average delay may decrease from 85.2 seconds to 30.3 seconds and the level of service may ascend from level F to C.
