Abstract :
In view of the practical meaning of uncertain information in vague values, basic rules of distance measures and similarity measures between vague sets are proposed. A new distance measurement between real value vague sets is constructed and can satisfy the basic rules. Based on it, a new distance measure and similarity measures between interval vague values are constructed, which are proved to have more distinguish ability through an example in pattern recognition.
