Abstract :
Vacuum contactors with rated voltages up to 12 kV are used chiefly for switching motors in electrical switchgear. Siemens has now extended its vacuum contactor range by development of the 3TL71 to include the 24 kV level. The contactor was used for the first time in the course of the Transrapid certification procedure and the modernization of the Transrapid test facility in Emsland, North Germany
