Abstract
The electric field distribution in a high-voltage vacuum interrupter is calculated and analyzed with the finite-element method. In the calculation, the potential on the electrodes is set asymmetric and the voltage on the floating shield is unknown. The influence of plasma conductivity and charges on electrode surface is also considered. The results show that the distribution of electric field in vacuum interrupter after current zero is greatly different from that of the static state
