Abstract
An electron speed filtering system with a superconducting cavity resonator was investigated in order to check its applicability to precise high-voltage measurements. Extensive theoretical and experimental work has been performed. Numerical calculations of the motion of relativistic electrons have shown a dependence of calibration voltages on the electromagnetic field strength. A discrepancy between theoretical and experimental calibration voltages was also observed. Despite good reproducibility, the calibration points observed do not therefore allow a precise high-voltage scale to be built.<>
