Abstract
Summary form only given. Field enhancement and extraordinary electromagnetic wave scattering by plasmonic particles usually solved using classical finite difference time domain techniques using the Drude Model to represent the optical characteristics of the particle. However, as size of the particle decreases to the order of the mean free path, the scattering property of the particle may no longer follows that of the bulk behavior. Therefore, here we investigated the scattering properties of the metallic particles as over-dense plasmas with particle-incell simulations and illustrate the variation in the scattering behavior of the particle due to the size effect and compare it to electromagnetic simulations using experimental inputs at near infra-red frequencies.
