Abstract :
The key selection criteria for power, control, and communications cables when used in transmission and distribution facilities are discussed. Underground, substation, industrial, residential and overhead cable applications in distribution and transmission applications are briefly discussed. Cable selection criteria include traditional as well as present and future considerations. Check lists of key selection criteria are provided for a variety of installation conditions and cable types
