Abstract
The influence of different types of cathodes on dynamic characteristics of waves of ionization has been investigated experimentally. It has been established, that at initiation of the discharge by impulses of negative polarity the maximum velocity of the propagation of waves is observed at a cold cathode, and the peak of peaking of forward front of an output current pulse at the heated cathode. The mechanism of the given appearance is considered
