Abstract
In real six-port reflectometers, the Gamma -value of the measurand cannot be univocally known. Due to residual calibration errors and noise in power detectors, at most a domain to which the Gamma -value may belong is found in the Gamma plane. An analysis of potential Gamma estimators geometrically related to this domain is carried out, and the results are used to evaluate system configuration by a more realistic simulation process. Specifically, the proposed approach is applied to six-port junction designs.<>
