Abstract :
Mobile Ad hoc network is a self-organizing, multi-hop and wireless network. This kind of networking is convenient to construct because it is free of time and space and it can be constructed without infrastructure. It has been widely used on many occasions such as danger zones, military regions, hospital and family. Due to the dynamic changes of topology, Ad hoc network has its particularity of routing algorithm. Among many ad hoc routing protocols, AODV routing protocol is the recommended one by the IETF´s MANET working group for its superior and simple but practical performance. However, AODV routing protocol itself does not take into account the current load of nodes in the process of route discovery, so it may result in localized network congestion. In this paper, we aimed at the above deficiency of AODV routing protocol, and proposed an improved method of AODV routing protocol with fuzzy control theory and random early detection ideas. The ns2 simulation shows that the modified protocol reduces the average delay, routing load and packet loss rate while increasing the data forwarding capacity of nodes.
