Abstract :
In order to increase the network capacity and improve the network performance of wireless mesh networks (WMNs), a possible solution is to make the nodes equipped with multiple radios which tuned on multiple non-overlapping channels. Efficient channel assignment is necessary for throughput optimization of mesh nodes. This paper proposed a novel channel assignment algorithm which is very suitable for multi-radio multi-channel WMNs. The proposed solution, called link Priority-aware, Traffic loads-aware, and Interference-aware (PTI) channel assignment algorithm, alleviates the "hot spot" problem, link load unfairness problem and link interference problem in WNMs. Simulation results shows that our proposed PTI channel assignment algorithm can increases throughput significantly.
