Abstract :
The high peak-to-average (PAR) power ratio is one of the major problems in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation system. In this paper, we present a new companding transform which is called YL transform. With this method, the distribution of time domain samples is transformed into uniform distribution and the PAR is reduced from 12dB to 4.6dB for 256-channel QPSK OFDM. Furthermore, the YL-Transform is easy to implement and costs less computation which is also can transform any kind of distribution into uniform.
