Abstract :
Seismic simulation should reproduce the expected seismic environment of substation equipment as realistically as possible. To simulate the real conditions in the field, the stresses caused by the operation of the equipment during the seismic activity must be considered. The two tests, operation and seismic, can be superposed. How the stresses are superposed and how the safety factor should be evaluated are discussed
