Abstract :
Distance education is designed for learners who are physically away from the teaching institution/faculty. Though not a recent innovation, evolving technologies have led to rapid growth of distance teaching and learning methods. In particular, in the context that India has witnessed a major change over the last few years with a substantial demand for high-quality education as well expansion, distance education has become an important and powerful pedagogical tool to extend the outreach of quality education.
