Abstract
The proper selection of a distribution voltage is one of the more important considerations of the electric utility planning engineer. This determination can have a significant effect on the economics and efficiency of transmission and distribution power delivery. The major considerations involving the selection of the voltage level for distribution facilities, principally 25 kV and 35 kV systems, are discussed, and experience with 34.5 kV is highlighted
