Abstract :
A retrofit proposal is presented, including MHD (magnetohydrodynamic) plant layout, schematic representation of components, and other technical details. The objectives of the retrofit concept are also presented. The proposal provides an improvement of net efficiency from 26% to 31% and a fuel savings of 7.7 tons/h of operation for the unit in question. It offers short lead time, low cost, proof of concept, operation feedback, and training of a cadre of engineers and scientists
