Abstract
Cognitive Radio allows Software Defined Radio terminal to interact with its environment. This means that it will be able to perceive its environment, sense the radio spectrum then adapt the software for better spectral efficiency and quality of service. In this paper, An interesting scenario for a real-time application processing a very delicate issue for the CR namely the opportunistic exploitation of the frequency spectrum demonstrated using Small Form Factor (SFF) Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform development. The algorithm for spectrum sensing implemented on SFF platform is based on Fast Fourier Transform and is insensitive to noise level. Experiments and measurement results show the validation of the proposed cognitive radio applications and the efficiency of the spectrum sensing technique.
