Abstract :
Quarantine is an important measure to control the spread of infectious diseases. A SIQS epidemic model is formulated to investigate the influence of impulsive quarantine on the transmission of infectious disease. The basic reproductive number is defined to describe the dynamical behavior of the model. Sufficient conditions for global stability of the disease free equilibrium and for the existence of an endemic periodic solution are obtained. Simulations based on SARS transmission is done to show that our method and results can be helpful in infectious disease control.
