Abstract
A new terminal guidance law is developed for a class of air-to-surface missiles to attack low velocity target on ground in this paper. The traditional proportional guidance law based on the angle rate of line-of-sight (LOS) is not proper for this attack problem because the angle rate of LOS is usually too small to be measured accurately. To resolve this problem, we present a new guidance law based on the angle of LOS only. The special characteristics of the terminal trajectory of this class of missiles are taken into account in the proposed guidance law. The full trajectory simulation results and analysis based on anti-ship missile are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed terminal guidance law.
