Abstract :
The evolution of altruistic behavior among selfish individuals in human and animal societies is an evergreen topic, fascinating a lot of interest and attention from various research fields. We propose a preferential participation mechanism to study the evolution of cooperation in the frame of coevolutionary public goods games on complex networks. Each individual evaluates the productivity of links which it participates in and then adjusts the contribution allocations and interactions. Moreover, we consider players update their strategies according to cumulative return which contains the historical earnings. We also study the effects of time scale separation of strategy and structure by introducing asynchronous update probability. Results suggest that the cooperative behavior is enhanced by adaptive adjustment of strategy and structure. Our results may give some insights into better understanding of how the coevolution of strategy and structure influences individuals´ cooperative behavior in the real world.
