Abstract :
This paper presents Virtual Drum. Virtual Drum allows us to play a drum anytime, anywhere by monitoring the player´s body movement with Microsoft Kinect, and presenting a virtual drum projected by a small projector on any surface near the player. The colors, shapes, and sounds of drums can be changed by the player´s gesture during his/her play. This approach increases the playfulness of the drum play. Also, the drums can be used as information displays by blending information on the visual surface of the drums.
