Abstract

This article presents the graphical layer of the Avis UIMS, developed in the context of the European Eureka Software Factory project. Avis aims at providing support for direct manipulation user interface components of the factory. The graphical layer of Avis features a graphical toolbox unifying arbitrary graphical objects and conventional reactive objects (e.g., buttons, dialogue boxes), a constraint solver and object-oriented model, and a generic graphical editor based on the direct manipulation paradigm
