Abstract :
In the present study, we focused on the development of an indoor positioning infrastructure using ICT which is easy to personal use, and provides correct positioning information. Although GPS exhibits superior performance outdoors, as for the indoor positioning, the fixing rate and accuracy are not high enough for pedestrian navigation systems and/or LBS (Location-Based Service). In this regard, we attempted to implement indoor positioning using cellular phones with built-in GPS and NFC, which is installed in smart vending machines and widely used in Japan. GPS is becoming increasingly popular, where $GPGGA sentences produced by the GPS receiver, provide 4D G-Spatial information including latitude, longitude, altitude, time, and floor. With the rapid growth of GPS applications, this G-Spatial data is becoming the key to the implementation of seamless indoor/outdoor positioning services when both daily life and in the emergency throughout the world.
