Abstract :
A real-time speed pattern generator is introduced to the safety and comfort control of the metro train. The main contribution of this paper is the development of real-time speed pattern generator (RSPG) based on optimum control theories. According to the dynamic condition of the state equations, the evaluative function of the stability should be minimized. This is the key to the speed pattern generator. In the RSPG, speedy acceleration/deceleration can be implemented under the constraints of acceleration and jerk limits. A coefficient of comfort can be adjusted to fit accelerator/brake actions of different circumstance of the train. Ultimately, safety and comfort of the metro train will be improved by the RSPG.
