Abstract :
This paper presents an adiabatic CAM (Content-Addressable Memory). All circuits except for CAM storage cells are realized using DTGAL (Dual Transmission Gate Adiabatic Logic) circuits. The adiabatic CAM storage cell is similar to conventional CMOS one except for the source port of the NMOS transistor for driving match-lines, which is driven by the match-line driver based on DTGAL buffers. For search and write operations, the proposed CAM attains energy savings of about 44% and 62% as compared to the conventional CMOS one at 300 MHz, respectively.
