Abstract :
This paper proposes an approach to accelerate Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) algorithm on System-on-Programmable-Chip (SOPC). We first analyzed the efficiency of software implementation of multiplication and division over GF(2m) on Nios II processor. Then Custom logic and accelerator were introduced to accelerate field arithmetic. The experimental results showed that the proposed solution improve the performance of ECC considerably. It is even faster than PC with 2.4 GHz Pentium4 processor.
