  • Abstract
    The research results of reduced complexity turbo equalizer study for public safety communications are presented. The SC- MMSE turbo equalizer includes serial inter symbol canceller and multiple input multiple output MMSE filter in its structure together with the soft input soft output (SISO) decoder. The very low decoding complexity SISO multidimensional parity check decoder (MDPC) is studied in this work. The multidimensional parity check decoder provides large number degrees of freedom for the system designer that could be efficiently exploit together with reduced complexity, robustness and lower power consumption in different communication systems. The simulation results show that performance close the optimal decoding could be achieved with very low complexity of the turbo decoder. It makes this type of receiver the interesting alternative for industrial implementations.
