  • Abstract
To provide a navigational tool to show a building´s interior and other related information, we propose a three-dimensional computer graphics (3DCG) display system connected to the elevator´s movements that can present a building´s structural information. We altered the 3DCG´s viewpoint according to the detected acceleration rate of the elevator and compared perceived acceleration rates through somatosensation to perceived acceleration rates through the visual stimuli of the 3DCG display. In addition, we compared the degree of difficulty in understanding the building´s structural information and the degree of virtual reality (VR) sickness between 3DCG and 2DCG. Results of our experiment shows that in terms of synchronizing acceleration rates and the degree of difficulty in understanding a building´s structural information, 3DCG is superior to 2DCG. Further, we found that VR sickness can be reduced by limiting the projection range of the faster-moving foreground.
