Abstract :
Summary form only given. High-energy-density-physics and inertial confinement fusion experiments done on Z pinch machines and laser facilities often use gated X-ray intensifiers (GXI) as the primary diagnostic. Improvements in resolution and background noise can be achieved with improved phosphor screens. We have developed several new sources for readout screens. Data will be presented that show resolution limits, signal to noise and luminosity at wavelengths useful for large area CCD readouts
