Development of a multi-purpose display and a timer for athletics

This paper describes a multi-purpose display and a timer developed for athletics. Traditional displays can be used for only one item of athletics, but this display can be used at long jump, throwing events, and combined events. In addition, these devices have the features of wireless communication, low cost, and easiness for users to handle. These have been already on sale and used at athletic games, then we show how these were used in the game and problems to solve we found there.
