Abstract :
Exact statistical models for multiple access interference (MAI) in M-ary time hopping pulse amplitude modulation (TH-PAM) and pulse position modulation (TH-PPM) ultra wideband (UWB) systems are presented. Based on these models, exact symbol error rate (SER) is expressed in simple formulas for TH-PAM. An approximate SER expression and an upper bound are presented for TH-PPM.
