Abstract
This paper presents Tandem´s approach to efficiently handling rediscovered software problems in user systems and service centers. At the heart of the approach is a symptom-based strategy to automatically diagnose rediscovered software problems. The paper discusses the development and implementation of an automated diagnosis system, experience in incorporating the automated diagnosis into Tandem´s service framework, and future work
