Abstract
This contribution deals with the analysis of the synchronous machine behaviour under unbalanced load conditions and loss of excitation. The steady state following the disturbance is efficiently obtained in the time domain with the application of a Newton technique based on a numerical differentiation (ND) procedure for the fast convergence of the state space model to the limit cycle, representing the steady state solution.
