Abstract
It is demonstrated that the general response of nonlinear dynamical systems can be expressed in terms of their transfer functions in an analogous way to the linear systems. The transfer functions are defined as the generalized series for the response of the nonlinear dynamical system which is initially at rest and which is loaded by a unit step function. These transfer functions are obtainable through symbolic computer algebra.<>
