Abstract
In the emerging Internet of Things (IoT), consumer electronics are important components to create a smart environment. Embedded systems, which have internet connectivity in their limited resource, are often equipped with separate MCUs for device control and wireless communication. However, this approach is not cost-effective because of multiple MCUs. To solve this, we propose an IoT framework which allows a single MCU to perform both real-time processing for device control and wireless communication via 6LoWPAN without additional MCUs. The results of our evaluation showed that its memory usage is low enough to implement applications on a single MCU.
