Abstract :
Summary form only given. Multipactor discharge is a secondary electron avalanche frequently observed in microwave systems. For the past few years, its suppression has been a major issue in high power microwave sources and RF accelerators since it can degrade device performance or even damage devices, including catastrophic window failure. In the presence of high pressure gas, the collision of electrons with the background gas can significantly affect the multipactor discharge along with the additional ohmic power dissipation. Using Monte-Carlo simulations, we investigate the effect of electron-neutral collisions in multipactor discharge on a dielectric
