Abstract :
A method used for the modelling and calculation of the electric field distribution, utilising FEM, in 145 kV outdoor current transformers, is presented in this paper. The behaviour study of the transformer is simulated with and without leader shields. The electrical analysis carried out simulates the behaviour of current transformers at commercial frequency (AC withstand test). The main contribution of this paper is that a method to calculate the electric field in current transformers, to be industrially used, is presented.
