Abstract
Pose determination of the human head is vital in many applications, such as face recognition, face re-orientation in videoconferencing, distance learning, etc. The paper suggests a simple and effective approach for pose determination based on head movement. Our approach is designed for video-based situations, i.e. it takes the advantage of the availability of the previous frame and the initial pose. It needs one feature point to determine the pitch angle, the yaw angle and the roll angle. The number of feature points to be tracked is significantly less than in many other approaches in this area. It is fast and efficient, and produces a reasonable accuracy
