Study on the comprehensive evaluation of development of regional service sector —An empirical analysis based on Ningbo

In recent years it have been recognized that the service sector has take a more and more important role in today´s economy. Evaluating the level of development in service sector is crucial for the regional government to formulate the policies that support the development of its service sector. This paper has constructed an index system for evaluating the development of service sector. And then use those indexes and AHP to take an empirical analysis based on Ningbo, China. We find that the results of the evaluation are highly consistent with the real facts of the city. Therefore the index system we constructed in this paper, combined with AHP can take a good performance in the evaluation of the development of service sector.
