Abstract :
New processes or new control systems of existing processes in the power generation field require that the design and the implementation of the automation system (i.e. devices committed to control, supervision, man-machine, etc.) would include both the flexibility and the friendliness of a laboratory desk, and the robustness and standardization of an industrial, off the shelf, system. An integrated CAD system for distributed Control and Supervision production has been realized. The system allows the designer to create the control diagrams, synoptic pages, trends and control station of any industrial process, totally assisted by the symbol editors it contains. This system has been designed to manage the control diagrams produced, as well as any other task, on different CPUs in parallel. These CPUs can be connected by a parallel VME bus or by networking depending on the requirements of the problem to be solved. The system may be connected by a field bus FIP (Field Instrumentation Protocol) to another parallel system where the real control loops are based and through this last system if can receive all the real plant signals or all the parallel simulator signals. Finally this two systems can be considered as a complex parallel real time architecture
