Abstract :
In order to investigate the behavior of adhesive anchor group under combined moment and shear loading, a numerical simulation is carried out in this paper with finite element analysis. In studied models steel-to-concrete connections by post-installed adhesive anchor are used. The analysis results show that the failure of anchor steel occurs in all specimens and only slight concrete cone appears under ultimate load. Tension stress plays a dominant role in internal force of anchor and the strength of connection would increase with deeper anchor embedment. The analysis of variable presents that ultimate capacity of connection would be controlled by the moment resistance of tensile anchors in case of larger eccentricity of the applied shear load ,while in case of smaller eccentricity the ultimate capacity of connection is determined by the combined tensile and shear strength of anchors in the tension zone.
