  • Abstract
    Through intensive research of the compression method based on embedded zero-tree wavelet, the advantages and disadvantages of this method are put forward in this paper. Its advantages lie in high compression ratio, favorable compression effect and so on. However, there exists influencing factors of coding speed in coding link. This coding link occupies large internal memory and its compression efficiency is unsatisfactory, which are the biggest disadvantages. Therefore, selective scanning is put forward in this paper, after canceling the interstage sequencing in coding, which has little influence on compression effect, the disadvantages of compression method based on embedded zero-tree wavelet can be solved in general.
