Abstract :
Telecom and data centre application requires air conditioned environments. For small installation split air conditioners with high sensible heat factors are selected with n number of units along with standby units according to the heat load. The selection of number of units for the particular time is determined by human. If the cooling is insufficient then more number of units were switched on manually There is no monitoring system for the air conditioner to determine their efficiency. This results the following problem (1) wastage of energy due to random number selection of air conditioner (2) non uniform hour operation of the air conditioner. This paper aims to address the above issues by (1)selecting the number of units optimally according to the room temperature by embedded controller designed for this purpose and also (2)the run hour of all air conditioner are made equally made by introducing run hour equalizing algorithm. (3)The status of the air conditioner and run time are monitored through internet (4) The in efficient working units are monitored through internet for taking action to repair. We used Arduino mega with Ethernet shield for the above purpose. Which is a low cost open standard board. We used Bitnami PHPmyadmin server which is an open standard software for hosting the status mentioned above.
