Abstract :
UDP (User Datagram Protocol) that widely used in streaming media transmission lacks of effective congestion control mechanisms, which affects transmission performance. In this paper, a Route Queue Management based end-to-end congestion scheme-MDCC (Mixed-Driven Congestion Control) is proposed. MDCC uses ARIO-C in middle node router and improved TFRC-based algorithm in congestion control which is adjusted to work with ARIO-C. The simulation results show MDCC is effective and efficient in improving performance of streaming media transmission.
