Abstract :
In this paper, the problem of voltage disturbances compensation in a three-phase four-wire electrical industrial system is considered. An active series compensator (ASC), with a new robust compensation algorithm, is proposed for voltage disturbances compensation. It is supplied by an AC-DC boost converter, which, if properly oversized, can be also used as an active parallel compensator (APC). Some design criteria for the ASC are discussed with reference to the boost converter oversizing. Numerical simulations validate the effectiveness of the proposed compensation strategy.
