When the numbers of international students has become an indicator of the institutional and global competitiveness, the continuance of the institution existence relied in the quality of education. This research study is exploring the rationale of international students in choosing the Private Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia. An in-depth interview with industry expertise had been conducted and followed by a survey questionnaire for quantitative data to interpret the survey findings, analyzed and to figure out the future directions for private higher education. Nigerian students from Africa, China Chinese from Asia and Iranian students from Middle East are targeted for this stratified sampling; based on the variables of the findings, some proposals for future planning in recruitment and research are discussed.
