Abstract
A Runge-Kutta procedure is used to investigate the dispersion characteristics of triangular-core fibers with a trench in the cladding. Numerical results on the total dispersion are presented, revealing some special features due to the trench. The results indicate that the triangular-core fiber is a good candidate for efficient mode coupling.<>
