Title :
Reliability demonstration of a high-reliability disk drive
Author_Institution :
IBM UK Ltd., Havant
Abstract :
The reliability demonstration activities of a high-reliability 5.25 in, high-density disk drive with 1 Gbyte data storage capacity and a small computer system interface (SCSI) are described. Emphasis is on lessons learned from the predecessor design. The study demonstrates how lessons learned were successfully utilized, how test activities were monitored and redirected, and how reliability growth modeling was applied
