Abstract
A.terreus, a filamentous fungus is the major source of hypercholesterolemic drug lovastatin. Although the whole genome sequence of A.terreus is available, the incomplete functional information leads to limited knowledge of the cellular process and their biochemical pathways. Identification of protein interactions is essential for understanding cellular role of proteins. Knowledge from protein interaction reveals functional insights and this help in understanding biosynthesis mechanism of lovastatin and other secondary metabolites. It also reveals pathway based information that can be used in target based drug design. The binary protein interaction dataset in A.terreus are generated by using various computational approaches and the dataset is available to user on request.
