Abstract
The wireless transmitter will experience a transient process when switched on or off and the transient feature is different for each transmitter, by which identifying the transmitter is called Radio Frequency Fingerprinting (RFF), and it can be used to enhance the security of WLAN. In this paper, we set up the experimental platform and extract the transient signals, then normalize the signals and propose a Normalized Signal Similarity (NSS) algorithm for extracting the transient features. The experimental results show that the proposed approach could attain an average identification rate of over 90%. Besides, the proposed method overcomes the impact imposed by the real-time mobility of transmitters.
